Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions
The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the international break, however will the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Tottenham this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.
For week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
The singer's new record, the new release, is available on the weekend.
Soccer and Parenting Life
Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or son decides to play instead."
Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.
"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer team," he added.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a period too.
"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both back fit.
I still think this game will be fairly tight, however. Burnley are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
Olly's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear strong again.
The Hammers' sole away victory this season came at Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno was still that team's manager.
So, what on earth do I predict here - can the Hammers continuing their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?
I am going to go with the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.
My son advised me to get Brentford striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
Thiago will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.
They have not had much fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
The singer's view: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be quite close. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six matches.
They have got plenty of quality in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.
As for the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.
Their display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else rough up the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of October.
But I am not do that. Instead, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.
Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
