Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage features live text of Sunday's games via various channels, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Also, audio coverage is available on designated networks for another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week in the football calendar , following last week's talk regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as possible championship contenders, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Notable in those games were the number of infractions each conceded. The Eagles did so at crucial times meaning they essentially beat themselves having led 17-3 entering the fourth period against the Denver Broncos, who play overseas this Sunday.

However it proved good to see how Denver quarterback the rookie managed to have the shortfall before direct three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, securing the game by four points.

The Broncos boast the defensive player of the year with cornerback their star corner. They rank first in goal-line defense, whereas the Eagles are number one in red zone offence, yet Denver won that contest.

They executed the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They did not always sending more than four defenders but they might position two LBs in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and send a nickel off the edge.

At the start in the campaign, it was noted during a show that the Broncos could be this season's dark horses. They finished last season well then did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this season's dark horses?

Recently acquired TE their tight end has stepped up significantly and new running back JK Dobbins is a guy they believe in. He's currently fifth in the NFL in ground gains (402) as well as tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love how head coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" prominently on his call sheet.

This demonstrates how the Broncos are a squad that wants to prioritize the run, since one can do a lot off the back of that. It slows opposing rushes and maintains in positive situations.

This has benefited QB Bo Nix, who came the NFL as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 TDs – second only to Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs have powerful arms to pass all over, however they lack the mobility that Nix has. He boasts exceptional passing ability, which is different, plus he's highly agile.

His assets are his movement, being able to throw on the run, and using varied release points to deliver the pass as he moves out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He can deliver precision throws over the middle and past defenders.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he displays a lot of poise in the pocket and isn't bothered by the blitz. He tries to avoid being tackled whenever possible and is able throw under pressure. He possesses sharp intelligence and is quick to decide.

When you constantly run the ball it consumes the clock and forces the defence to stay in play extended periods, and when you have an athletic quarterback the defence has to cover the field downfield side to side. This proves draining.

Nix has pushed back at Payton on the sideline at times and it seems the coach likes that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for him to have a rookie QB who's kind of like moldable clay. He can truly build something up the way he desires to shape him. I think it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

Payton has won a Super Bowl and has surpassed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He's seen it all. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are experiencing offensively is largely due to his guidance, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the combination with the QB aids shape him what he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to help you through some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they good enough to face a top squad at full strength? Since that wasn't championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.

Currently, it's unlikely the Broncos are elite. They're performing better than most, which is a good place to hold their division. The key to do to continue this trajectory.

They're really good at leaning into their forte, which is the ground game, and this is exactly what they must do versus the New York Jets in London. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

New York have surrendered 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad without a win a game.

Since the NFL began tracking takeaways decades ago, this team are the inaugural squad to be without a single takeaway through five games, which is kind of shocking considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City are off to a poor start after a recent loss to Jacksonville.

After the upcoming matchup, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule up to their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the AFC West, the Chiefs are 2-3 and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could challenge at leading the division.

This hinges on which form Kansas City shows up they face since the Broncos {beat|def
